Executive Briefings
A half-day or one-day CMMI Orientation is available for managers who would like a high-level overview of the model. This orientation is geared toward management concerns, such as understanding the CMMI's benefits and ROI, developing a get-started strategy, and understanding the sponsorship and resources that are required to ensure success. Briefings can be customized to meet your organization's specific business and performance improvement needs.

Appraisal Methods
The CMMI Institute's official CMMI v3.0 Foundations of Capability is a two-day course that teaches the fundamentals of implementing the model in your organization. This course is supplemented with the one-day Building Development Excellence course. The two courses are taken together since they provide a detailed overview of the performance improvement concepts contained in CMMI V3.0 for Development and related appraisal methods.
StepUp Solutions typically provides the above courses virtually. They can also be provide at your facility, making it convenient and cost-effective for staff members to attend. An additional benefit of on-site delivery is the ability to gear discussions toward your particular business environment and product domain. This course introduces those interested in participating as team members on a informal gap analysis. It is also foundational to the CMMI Institute's training required for Appraisal Team Members (ATMs). The Method Definition Document (MDD) provides a set of requirements and processes for conducting appraisals relative to the CMMI. It provides guidance to an appraisal team to gain insight into an organization's processes and performance capabilities by identifying strengths and weaknesses as related to the CMMI practices.

- Managers and practitioners who are involved in using or improving their business performance and related processes.
- Required training for individuals who are planning to become CMMI Professionals, Certified Instructors, or Certified Lead Appraisers.
